We all know that an MBA program is an investment in your future. But how do you pay for it now? Fortunately, many scholarships exist for talented applicants. We combed the internet searching for scholarships that might benefit Merchant GMAT students, such as scholarships for women and Latin American MBA scholarships.

The Forté Fellowship program was created with the idea of increasing the number of women in MBA programs. Female students accepted into Forté Sponsor schools will be automatically considered for full or half-tuition fellowship awards. The scholarship looks for women who exhibit exemplary leadership and a commitment to women and girls through personal mentorship or community involvement. The average GMAT score of successful fellows in 2019 was 703.
The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University offers scholarships worth $60,000 for tuition and fees over the two years of the MBA program. The scholarship is targeted at students from Latin America or with a direct Latin American connection such as work experience with Latin American companies, Latin American citizenship, Hispanic ancestry, or knowledge of Spanish.
Latin American applicants to LBS will be automatically considered for the school’s Latin America Scholarship. The scholarship is worth up to 50% of tuition fees. If awarded the scholarship, you will be expected to help contribute to the school’s marketing efforts in Latin America. One scholarship is awarded per year.
Bocconi offers partial tuition waivers to successful applicants from Central and South America. Each year they award one partial (up to 70%) tuition waiver and one partial (up to 50%) tuition waiver. To be eligible for the 70% tuition waiver you must have minimum GMAT score of 680. To apply for the scholarships, fill out the tuition waiver form on the online application portal by the deadline indicated.
The Boustany Scholarship at Harvard Business School is awarded once every two years to a candidate with excellent academic background and considerable promise. The next scholarship will be awarded to a member of the 2019 incoming class. It can be awarded to applicants of any background, but priority is given to those of Lebanese descent. If awarded the scholarship, scholars are expected to complete a 2-month unpaid internship with the foundation. The scholarship consists of $95,000 of financial aid ($47,500 per year) and travel and accommodation expenses related to the internship.
There’s no reason to pay more than you have to for an MBA program, especially when someone out there might jump at the chance to pay for you. These are just a few of the many opportunities out there for qualified MBA applicants. It’s worth researching these schools and their scholarship programs to see if they might be right for you.
