Let’s take a break from Covid and turn our attention to some very exciting trends we are seeing happen on a global scale affecting women directly.
In recent years, the number of women studying for MBAs at top business schools has increased at a rapid rate. Only two or three years ago, the proportion of females in all schools was above 30% all year round. After Stanford GSB broke the 40 percent mark, every school followed suit the following year, with the proportion rising significantly from one year to the next.
We are dedicating this week’s Pulse to highlighting some amazing success stories of Merchant women and other female business professionals who are making international waves and riding them as well!
Whether it be travelling to Barcelona to start a new job, heading off to London to pursue her MBA, or following her entrepreneurial dreams to bring gender equity to the workplace, Merchant Alumni Mel Faxon is always on the move. Her story begins in the United States…
If you would like to know what schools have the best representation of women in their MBA programs, specific female equality initiatives implemented and some VERY interesting recent stats about the true earning potential of women after an MBA, this is a great starting point.
Find out how an MBA equipped these two women in business to make an impact on a global scale and the specific MBA journeys they embarked upon.
Finally, let us introduce to you a very powerful organization for the empowerment of women, Forté Foundation who focuses on launching women into fulfilling, significant careers through access to business education, professional development, and a community of successful women. Forte teamed up with “How to MBA” and UNC Kenan-Flagler, to examine how getting an MBA can dramatically impact women’s pay and position within their industry and organization.
